Part 1: Somatics and Breathwork (November 15, 2024)
This session focuses on integrating somatic and breathwork techniques into EMDR therapy. By blending Polyvagal and Koshic theory, therapists will learn to help clients develop self-regulation skills, create a sense of safety, and make early progress in treatment. The course covers how to incorporate these practices into various phases of EMDR to enhance trauma therapy outcomes.

Part 2: Meditation (November 22, 2024)
This session introduces meditation techniques to complement EMDR therapy. Therapists will explore how meditation can help clients manage discomfort during and after EMDR sessions by improving cognitive defusion and promoting neuroplasticity. The course provides guidance on when and how to use meditation, especially for sensitive trauma clients, through practical application and experiential learning.

You can attend either session individually or both as a bundle. These sessions will provide valuable insights into integrating yoga therapy into EMDR practice.

Christine Saari, MA, C-IAYT
Christine Saari is a certified yoga therapist, educator, and co-founder of Yoga Therapy Associates. She holds a master’s degree and is recognized by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Christine specializes in working with individuals dealing with anxiety and trauma, offering tailored yoga therapy programs. Her vision includes integrating yoga therapy into healthcare, mental health, and social services, while also offering continuing education and wellness programs for professionals. Christine regularly contributes to her organization’s blog, providing research-based insights on the therapeutic effects of yoga.
Rachel Dash-Dougherty, LCSW
Rachel Dash-Dougherty is a licensed clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience in mental health. As the founder of The Grounded Therapist in East Lyme, CT, she focuses on treating anxiety, eating disorders, and women’s health issues. Rachel is experienced in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help clients process trauma. She also incorporates yoga-based methods, including mindfulness and somatic practices, to enhance the mind-body connection in therapy. Rachel stays current with the latest advancements in her field, continuously expanding her expertise to provide holistic, client-centered care.
